In recent years many companies in the stone industry have undergone a process of development, through the research for solutions of production optimization and costs reduction due to an increase of orders and jobs.
Euro Porfidi Srl is a historic Italian company set in the area of Verona, at the heart of the marble district and specialized in the extraction and transformation of Porfido Trentino and selected natural stones, is well established firm having chosen to follow this path by integrating its production with a new plant.
The main requirement was to produce a wide range of products, objects and items of various sizes, including kitchen countertops and outdoor bench, reducing downtime due to the long-lasting handling phases of the blocks used. Starting from these and other production needs, Donatoni Macchine developed and installed a “tailored” solution, working hand I hand with the customer and making suggestions, as a tailor with his cloths.
The result is a fully customized DG 1000 working centre with Z axes of 1000 mm, supplied with 2 workbenches differentiated by type of processing, the first is a tilting steel bench with wooden overbench, the second is a fixed aluminum worktop to use suction cups , an automatic tool exchange with rotary tool holder with 16 positions +2 disc (625 and 825 mm) and 2 opposite access areas, both equipped with control consoles. A highly flexible machine allowing to work kitchen tops, washbasins, medium and large furnishing items, due also to the bi-rotary head, a 31kW powered electrospindle and a disc of 1100 mm of diameter to cuts up to 610 mm thickness.
The owner of the company claims that this machine, which can be managed by a single operator, already brought clear results in terms of reduction of processing times; as a matter of facts, while the machine is working on the first bench, the operator can unload, load and program the cutting process on the second bench.
